Help Your Body Detoxify - Sauna
Sauna and heat therapy (steam bath or hot bath) are among the simplest ways to rid the body of toxins. Perspiration induced by a sauna opens the pores in the skin and naturally expels toxins and other waste products from the body. This 'sweat therapy' not only releases toxins from the skin, but also eases aches and pains by relaxing muscle.
Sweat contains almost the same elements as urine and for this reason the skin is sometimes called the third kidney. Skin is the largest organ of the body and as much as 30% of body wastes are eliminated through sweat. Sauna has been used to sweat out cocaine, nicotine, pesticides and other toxins. Sitting in a sauna after exercise encourages even more elimination.
Whether you find a local sauna or just take a detoxifying hot bath at home, it will help intensify your 7-day detox program. Enjoying a sauna is a personal thing; you should always listen to your body and do as you feel best. You should not remain inside the sauna longer than 30 minutes a time. After the sauna, shower to clean yourself from the sweat, have a peaceful rest and a refreshing drink.
